The lakeside region of Nyanza boasts of over 5000 volunteer members comprising of doctors, 20 nurses, over 2000 volunteer first responders and the rest are Badgers and Cadets in schools.
Every year the region assist hundreds of casualties of various emergencies, especially road crash victims at accident blackspots.
The region also holds annul first aid competition to test readiness of its volunteers and first res-ponders in giving first aid and emergency rescue. The competition was also extended to members of the national police service who respond to almost all crimes and emergencies within the counties of the wider
Nyanza region.
