Volunteers

Our dedicated and highly skilled volunteers are the cornerstone of St John Kenya. Without our volunteers we would not be able to carry out such a diverse range of activities to communities all across Kenya.

St John has 15,000 active volunteers busy all over the country - offering First Aid and emergency care at accidents and incidents, giving selfless service to the communities in which they live, offering First Aid cover at public events and training our vast youth network in personal development and leadership programmes among other things.

Not only are our volunteers highly trained, disciplined professionals in what they do, the are also from all walks of life and of all ages. From university students to young professionals, retirees to primary school children, we have a place for everyone to serve humanity in some way. Our youngest member is 6 years old and the oldest way over 60!

The volunteers are divided into units called divisions, are mostly uniformed and function within a rank structure. However, some volunteers serve in our various Regional Councils and the National Council. There are also options for short-term volunteering in professional capacities that adult volunteers may pursue.
