The following vacancy is available:
- RESOURCE MOBILIZATION AND PLANNING OFFICER
The charity organization, which is also the most preferred provider of First Aid Training, community health and ambulance services throughout the country, is seeking to recruit a suitable person to fill the above post.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously evaluating a Resource Mobilization strategy for St. John Ambulance Kenya and co-ordinating all related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate resource mobilization activities including income generating opportunities/ social enterprise opportunities,
- Identify, describe and justify partnership and project possibilities in connection with donor priorities and funding opportunities,
- Promote new and innovative financing mechanism towards achieving outstanding results,
- Apply mass communication, marketing and promotional skills to sell the idea that generates funds and program implementation,
- Work closely with the staff and external stakeholders, partners, Academic Institutions, NGO, CSOs, Local Peace Communities, etc,
- Build M&E systems focused on data collection & analysis,
- Assist Regional Executive Officers in the implementation of M&E exercises for projects and impact assessments,
- Build the capacity of the staff in monitoring and evaluation including initiating, organizing, participating, and conducting workshops,
- Assist the staff in the revision of work plans and strategies,
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested.
Requirements:

Suitable applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Masters degree or higher in relevant studies (such as Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, International Studies, Communication, and Monitoring and Evaluation and related discipline),
- At least 3- 5 five years experience in resource mobilization/fund raising and proposal development for an international development Organization,
- Experience in working with emergency response, volunteer management and community health organizations is highly advantageous,
- Superior knowledge of best practices in International donor relations, and Fundraising,
- Strong English writing and speaking skills,
- Computer proficiency,
- Proven negotiation, strategic planning and execution skills,
- A team player, with proven performance in a multi-cultural and multidisciplinary environment,
- Ability to work long hours and under pressure.
