The organisation is a leader in the provision of First Aid Training throughout East and Central Africa. Due to the rising demand for our quality training courses, we seek to recruit suitable personnel that will join the Training Department
Qualifications
• Minimum qualification should be a Bachelor's degree in social sciences or any other relevant degree.
• Minimum of three years experience in handling training and grading for certification.
• Networking Skills will be essential to link the organization with other corporate organisations to achieve expanded growth, exhibit initiative and ability in liaising with existing and prospective clients , corporate and community ( Wananchi ).
• Knowledge and skills in Disaster Preparedness and Management.
• Skills in Fire Safety training.
• Good Research Skills and ability to do proposal writing and reporting skills.
• Exhibit willingness to travel and demonstrate good people skills.
• The Person should also exhibit training experience at the Community level and formulation of training manuals
• Knowledge of the existing National Laws and regulations on training from the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT).
• Organise alumni activities for former St. John Ambulance trainees and clients.
• Excellent communication skills with a good command of English and Swahili, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a team player.
• Good ICT skills, with the ability to use various computer packages.
• Foreign language will be an added advantage, though not a must.
• Exhibit self confidence and ability to clearly articulate issues with relevance and impact aimed at improving training services and expansion of the department.
• Be a creative and innovative person.
• Undertaken First Aid training offered by St. John Ambulance Kenya.
• Preferred age 22 - 33 years of age.
• Possession of a valid St. John Ambulance Trainer's C ertificate will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Work as per the performance contract of the training department.
• Understand St. John Vision, Mission and Values.
• Prepare adequate and appropriate training material and equipment prior to any training session.
• Conduct First Aid classes to the highest standards on a day to day basis as per the demand; both at the Headquarters and the Regions.
• Record and maintain a Class Attendance Register during training.
• Ensure that all the necessary class documentation and paperwork is completed at the end of each training session as per the training department's ISO procedures.
• Administer a Client Feedback form using Form T/07 "Course Critique" and submit the same for policy making on monthly basis
• Take care of all training equipment and resources and ensure that they are in a good usable state at any given time.
• Ensure that all clients attending training have either paid or obtained invoices from the Accounts Department.
• Assist in pursuing monies owed to the Training department by clients.
• Assist in marketing and publicity of all St. John services, with emphasis on First Aid training and Disaster Preparedness.
• Be a team player with all St. John Ambulance Kenya staff at the Headquarters and at the Regions.
• Create awareness and sensitization of St. John activities and products.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
• Knowledge of St. John Ambulance will be an asset.
• Exhibit determination and discipline in carrying out assignments
Office Management
• Report to the Training Manager on a timely basis under strict deadlines.
• Write proposals for the Training department.
• Appraisals will be done on a quarterly basis.
• Be an excellent communicator.
• Flexibility of hours; availability for some weekend work, as hours will vary.
