St. John draws its strength from the commitment and selfless service of its volunteers.  They sacrifice their time, efforts and resources to serve mankind.

 Uniformed Volunteers

The uniformed members are categorized as follows: -

  • Badgers  - 6 - 11 years.

  • Cadets   - 12 - 17 years.

  • Adults   - 18 – 65 years.

St. John Ambulance encourages all members of the public and corporations who have already been trained in First Aid to join the organisation as volunteers.

The existing volunteers are from various professional backgrounds and some are unemployed.

St. John Ambulance does not discriminate.  We believe that everybody has something of value to offer fellow Kenyans.

The young volunteers of St. John Ambulance are also involved in leadership development and character building programmes.

Professional Medical Personnel

Among the volunteers are doctors and nurses; a team that sets and overseas standards of all services provided by St. John Ambulance.  These doctors and nurses work in other institutions (Governmental and Private) but sacrifice their free time to the work of St. John Ambulance.  Interested Medical professionals are encouraged to join. The medical professionals also organize medical camps among deserving communities. Interested Medical professionals are encouraged to join.

What Do Volunteers Do?
